IntraOral Scanners (IOS) are used to capture images in patient's mouth that can then be used to design and Manufacture components to restore the patient to function.  Images captured are translated into an (STL) Standard Tessallation Language file (bet you didn't know that) This file can be shared to design and manufacturing software(s)  The IOS process can replace many analog impressions protocols, resulting in a reduction of material costs, transportation costs, storage costs, staff time, and chair time.  Additionally, an IOS is more accurate than traditional impression materials and provides a more pleasant patient experience.  The IOS is a data acquisition device necessary for clinicians looking to adopt digital workflows in their practice.
